The Pirates traded Cesar Valdez to the Marlins yesterday for a PTBNL. Valdez was the return from the D’Backs in the Zach Duke trade. He doesn’t strike out many hitters and he hasn’t really been very good.
Charlie says that if the Pirates finish with a winning record, Clint Hurdle should and probably will be manager of the year. As much as Hurdle’s tactics tend to drive me a little batty, it’s pretty hard to argue with that sentiment.
