The Georgia Bulldogs fell flat in 2013 thanks in part to injuries and in part to a porous defense. This off-season has already brought them the dismissal of starter Josh Harvey-Clemons as well as an off-season incident for starter Tray Matthews. With Jeremy Pruitt taking over the defense, the Dawgs have a long off-season ahead of them. Two of the most important players for Georgia this year could be two guys that are transferring over from offense, JJ Green and Tramel Terry (who actually red-shirted last season due to an injury). There were a lot of updates on social media yesterday regarding Green, so let’s take a look at how he’s doing so far (just days into camp)….
First, here is what is being said about Pruitt and his defense…
DB Quincy Mauger: “Coach Pruitt’s really doing his best job of really slowing everything down and teaching us what to read and how to do it”

Mauger cont. “He does it by showing us. I like a coach that knows how to show by example, and he’s doing a really good job coaching.”

LB Ramik Wilson: “Pruitt, he means business. He’s not really laughing that much. He yells real hard and he’s trying to prove a point”
— UGA Football News (@UGAfootballLive) March 21, 2014
Wilson cont. “That he’s going to change things around here That’s what we need this year. I think guys are really buying in.”
— UGA Football News (@UGAfootballLive) March 21, 2014
Wilson cont. “Everybody bought in. Everybody.”

More from Ramik Wilson: “If you’re jogging and not going hard, he will replace you. He’s not playing. He’s been giving hints to some people”
— UGA Football News (@UGAfootballLive) March 21, 2014
Wilson cont. “He does send people to the [third-strings] and [second-strings] a lot. He’ll drop you on the depth chart.”

and here’s what is being said about Green….
DB Quincy Mauger loves the zeal that Green brings to the secondary and says “He’s like a little ball of energy.”
— UGA Football News (@UGAfootballLive) March 21, 2014
Mauger on JJ Green: “He brings a lot of energy. He’s playing physical out there. He’s like a little ball of energy. He’s doing a great job”
