Chemistry Is Building as the Hornets with their 4th Straight

The Hornets look good on the court, and I’m not talking about those new purple jerseys. Anyone who has been watching knows exactly what I’m talking about. The team everyone paid to see is now taking the court…I mean, they have for the last 4 games. This is your 2014-2015 Charlotte Hornets. They are a team full of hustle, a motor that won’t quit, and a hunger to outperform anyone they face. Unfortunately, this is all starting to gel without Lance Stephenson being part of the equation. One thing I do believe, however, is that it is actually good for Lance to sit court side and watch. He needs to make some mental notes as to what works in this team. He may even need to swallow his pride, listen to the current players that were Bobcats, and really absorb what it is going to take to be successful in Charlotte. Let’s chat about this game in Milwaukee, shall we? Five Hornets in double figures; that wins games. It definitely does when Kemba has 27, Gerald has 20, Marvin Williams and Al each have 12, MKG chips in 10, and everyone else who had playing time put some points on the board. It was a really good overall game. Milwaukee had a better field goal percentage than us (47.6% versus 43.9%)and they had more assists than us. We were even with 3-pointers though. There’s just no way I’m going to tear down this team right now on what they did wrong. They’re on a 4-game win streak now, and face the Thunder on Friday. Hopefully we get a little rest over the Christmas holiday, and will be focused and ready to compete with the Thunder. One last note I feel the need to mention. I always say that I defend this team like family. I’ve been particularly hard on Gerald Henderson for a while now. He just was not playing up to what I thought he was capable of. I’ve screamed for a trade of him for a while. Well, I’m sorry. All it has taken is he being more aggressive in attacking the basket, and the defense has started respecting his driving ability. This, in turn, has freed him up for his mid-range jumper. Also, that corner 3-point shot is coming around. When he’s open, he’s dangerous. With that said, Gerald, you’re playing up to your potential, and you’re earning every minute you’re getting right now. I’m proud of you! Keep it up. Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night… Let’s go Hornets!!!
