Kris Bryant has yet to enter the batter’s box for the Chicago Cubs, but he’s already making new fans.
And it all started with a simple request.
@KrisBryant_23 is there anyway I could DM u a link and you could tell me if this looks legit to you? Want to buy it if it was yours. Thanks

//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js“Mike in Vegas” is Mike Kennedy, a baseball memorabilia from Las Vegas. He was watching a game-used Bryant bat on eBay and, before dropping $850 on it…decided to reach out to the Cubs prospect to see if it was legit.
Bryant didn’t waste any time authenticating the listing, instead, the minor league slugger opted to go one, scratch that, an infinite number better.
@mk9577 you don’t need to buy it! What do you want? I’ll send it to you! — Kris Bryant (@KrisBryant_23) October 31, 2014
@mk9577 850 bucks?! That’s ridiculous! I’ll send one to you. DM me your address! — Kris Bryant (@KrisBryant_23) October 31, 2014

“I was stoked when Kris replied back. I was really just hoping he would say ‘Yeah that’s one of my bats from this year,’” Kennedy told Chris Olds from Beckett.com. “[Then] I would buy it and that would be the end of it. When he said he would just give me one I was floored.”
Kennedy sent the future Cubs third baseman his address and bam…this.
I cannot thank @KrisBryant_23 enough for this bat! So blown away. Just made me a @cubs fan!! Thank you thank you pic.twitter.com/WQLXvRiMO2
