So, by now we’ve all had a chance to let that Charlotte Bobcats 2nd half demolition job of the Toronto Raptors sink in right?
You know, the 35 point loss (The Bobcats largest margin of victory in franchise history), being outscored 64-35 in 2nd half, allowing 41 fastbreak points, and giving up 74 points in the paint (The ‘Cats only scored 116 total points…). Yep, with the G.O.A.T. sitting courtside to watch his ‘Cats do work on the Raptors (as shown above).
Well, here are Chris Bosh’s post game comments and he made some poignant and matter-of-fact statements (ones I’ve personally been echoing as well here on the blog through these first 16 games):
Paul Jones:
“Chris, how much back-to-back stuff is mental and fighting through it?”
Chris Bosh:
“It don’t have nothin’ to do with it. Basketball is basketball, you know? You can make excuses all the time. Everyone goes through back-to-backs, so, it’s no excuse you can make. You can’t say you’re tired, you can’t say ‘lack of this, lack of that’. You just get the job done. Because nobody cares – to be honest.”
Another Raptors reporter:
“When you guys don’t have, you know, your shots on, it seems like maybe that sometimes affects the defense and running back and…”
Chris Bosh:
“It can’t affect the defence. That should never, that should never happen. That should never ever happen. I think, uh, we get down and that’s something we have to get out of. You know, uh, quite honestly, I think we let offence affect our defence and that should never happen. No matter how bad your offence is, if they don’t score, and you don’t score the game is tied.”
Let’s hope the Raptors are prepared to brush off this loss and get back to playing a consistent game, especially on the defensive end of the floor, for FORTY EIGHT minutes. The Raptors are in Boston to face the Celtics on Friday, and at home against the Suns on Sunday. This is the perfect chance to prove that they can hop right back in the saddle, and like Chris said “just get the job done”.
