Chris Brickley helping Carmelo Anthony & Co. Compete At High Levels

NBA training camp won’t start for another few weeks now, but with the regular season set to begin earlier than ever before, the Knicks’ official preparation for the upcoming season isn’t too far away. As players start to trickle into the Big Apple, New York will likely hold unofficial workouts with players from the NBA club and G League affiliate Westchester Knicks in the days and weeks that follow.

Some players have already begun to settle into New York City, getting an even earlier head start. Renowned NBA trainer Chris Brickley, who previously worked as a development assistant in Westchester, has been quite busy as of late, but not too busy to shed some light on what he and some of this season’s Knicks have been up to. Most recently, he and Mike Atkinson (also of the “Dub Knicks”) began to help New York’s new-look backcourt of Frank Ntilikina and Tim Hardaway build up their chemistry, conditioning, and more. With a hat tip to Tommy Beer of Basketball Insiders, take a look below at what they’ve been up.

Elite pickup games have also been underway, with Carmelo Anthony headlining action that features the likes of LeBron James, Kevin Durant, Enes Kanter, and Lance Stephenson. Anthony’s right hand man in Lance Thomas has been working tirelessly, serving as a staple at Jordan Terminal day in and day out. Former Knicks J.R. Smith, Brandon Jennings, Marshall Plumlee, and Cleanthony Early have all also turned up in recent weeks, adding to the level of competition. Take a look below for a peek at the action.

Anthony has seemingly paired up with Brickley all summer long to get more and more work in. It remains to be seen whether or not he’ll don orange and blue this coming season, but wherever he ends up, the star forward figures to be at the top of his game. For more highlights and workout sessions, it’s also a good idea to keep an eye on Brickley’s Instagram.
