Former Ram Chris Long, wanted to follow his dreams of becoming a champion and did so when he was shipped to New England. As a long time Ram Fan, it was exciting to see the 8-year former Ram finally have his hard work result in something besides a four win season. However, today Long posted an explanation on his Instagram why he is leaving the Patriots and heading into Free Agency.

“Thank you Pats Nation. As a player you’ve given so much support to, I owe you an explanation as to why I’ll be moving on in FA… even if it isn’t a big deal.”

“This year and this opportunity gave me a ton. I made lifelong friends in a great locker room and became a champion. I’m so thankful that Coach B (the GOAT) took a chance on me and allowed me the opportunity to play a small part in this wonderful year.”

“This has zero to do with money, etc. It’s the right move in my heart because I want to get back to being the player I was before. I’m thankful for my role this year, but as a competitor, I’m itching to do what I do best.”

“It was important to say thank you personally. You may not remember me much, but I’ll always remember y’all!!”

In conclusion Chris Long is hoping to finish off his NFL career as a starter and return back to form where he recorded over 10+ sacks a season. The Los Angeles Rams are a defensive minded team, and with the right mindset and paycheck would the Rams give Long another shot with the team?

It’s a long shot knowing the full depth on the defensive line of the Mob Squad, but depending on what Long wants, he may become a veteran leader for the Los Angeles.

What do you think Rams Nation, should the Rams be open to hearing from Chris Long?
