CBS’ Jon Rothstein just confirmed the news that the Cincinnati Bearcats and Butler Bulldogs will meet in a home and home basketball series starting at Fifth Third Arena next season. This was talked about during the tournament, when Butler’s AD mentioned it to Gregg Doyle.
Butler is showing up on a lot of preseason top 25 lists for next year, as are the Bearcats. Both teams should be pretty good next season. Butler is a solid program with a solid coach and some very good players. Cincinnati brings back damn near everyone and Mick Cronin on top of that. This assures the Bearcats of at least one prime game on ESPN this season. That’s a plus as well.
