Tomorrow afternoon, Cincinnati goes on the road to Southern Methodist to play the terrible Mustangs. It is hard to muster any enthusiasm for this game, if we are being quite honest. I just don’t care about SMU football. In fact, I wasn’t even going to do a preview for this game, I was going to let the podcast be the preview. Instead, here is a truncated preview of the Bearcats trip to Dallas.

SMU has played a murderous schedule, minus North Texas, and been trounced every time. This game shouldn’t be any different. I don’t care how bad the defense is, and it’s very bad, SMU is a pass only team. The Cats should be able to get after the Mustangs. Like I mentioned on the podcast, I think SMU is going to pull out every stop for this game. They are coming off a bye and a somewhat encouraging loss to East Carolina. They probably believe they can beat the Bearcats.
However, SMU is worse than Toledo. They are worse than Miami. This shouldn’t be a problem at all. My worry level is 0. Kick their ass and let’s move on to the next one. Also if any players or coaches are reading this, let’s kick their ass in around 3 hours because I have to cover the Notre Dame-FSU game for the student section and I need some time for dinner.
