The Bearcats and Huskies met three times last year with the first meeting at Cincinnati. The then-7^th ranked Bearcats won a tight one, 63-58, snapping UConn’s three game winning streak. They met again a month later on March 1^st and Connecticut prevailed in another low-scoring battle, 51-45. Then, the two teams duked it out in the conference tournament semifinals with UConn narrowly winning 58-56. The teams’ combined scores for the three games were UConn 167, Cincinnati 164, demonstrating how Cincinnati was just about equals to the eventual national champion.
