Oehser with lots of good stuff from Charlie Johnson
Of how long he will hold the position, Johnson said, “That’s still left to be seen.”
“There have been times in the past where I’ve felt like I’ve had a spot and because of this or that, I’ve had to go somewhere else,” he said. “I guess for now, you could say that (that he has found a home at left tackle), but for now, I’m just taking it day by day. I’m not trying to get too high or too low. I’m just trying to go play football. . . . When I got word I was going to be playing left tackle, that’s where I could focus all my attention. It’s good, because I can finally work at one spot and really focus on the fine details of one spot. Each position is a little different, from playing inside to playing outside, but getting started and all the stuff we do as far as our offense is similar. There’s stuff you can work on. . . .
“Right now, I guess I’m the left tackle. I’m not going to make any guarantees, because things can change, and as of now, that’s where I’ve been working. As far as I see it, that’s the way it’s going to be.
“That’s a fairly significant change from past seasons.”
