The Sacramento Kings (20-37) made a run at the Portland Trail Blazers (39-19) late, but didn’t have enough in the tank to pull out the win Sunday at Sleep Train Arena.
Rudy Gay scored a team-high 24 points on 10-for-22 shooting. Derrick Williams added 18 points off the bench and Andre Miller dropped in a 12-point, 10-assist double-double. The Kings were without the services of DeMarcus Cousins who missed his second straight game with a left ankle sprain and hip issue.
The Kings return to action Tuesday against the Knicks at Madison Square Garden. Join Cowbell Kingdom’s James Ham as he recaps the action from the floor.
