Tight end Dallas Clark caught 14 passes for 119 yards Sunday to help the Colts beat Houston 20-17 in an AFC South game. His performance did not go unnoticed.
Clark was named AFC Offensive Player of the Week on Wednesday.
“It’s cool. It’s never happened before,” said Clark, a seven-year veteran who ranks second in the NFL with 60 receptions. “But a lot of things went into it. It certainly wasn’t just an individual thing.”
Clark’s 14 catches tied Marvin Harrison’s single-game team record and was one off the NFL record for a tight end. San Diego’s Kellen Winslow caught 15 in 1984 and Dallas’ Jason Witten matched that total in 2007.
