It appears Clemson Football Coach Dabo Swinney has not only to deal with filling coaching jobs on his staff but now has to deal with the arrest of freshman offensive tackle Brandon Thomas. Thomas was arrested over the weekend in his hometown of Spartanburg and charged with public disorderly conduct.
Thomas, a backup player in 2010, was booked into the Spartanburg County Detention Facility at 1:48 a.m. Sunday morning and later released on a bond of $262. The charge against the 19 year old is a misdemeanor.
The reason I share this is for some reason, many media outlets in South Carolina do not like to write bad things about the CU Tigers. This Gamecocks blog will not standby and let it things like this go unnoticed because if this was a USC player it would be breaking news on every media site in South Carolina. We just want it to be – “fair and balanced” in the words of Fox News plus it is our rival. Trust us, we know kids make mistakes and we hope Thomas learns from his error, we just want the media to share the news fairly about each sports program in the state.
The story is in the Anderson Independent Mail – HERE – but no where else on the mainstream media outlets in SC as of 9 am today. Hopefully now they will cover it as Clemson, nor any program, is perfect.
