In this weeks episode of CLE Baseball and Brews, my awesome co-host, Brad Wojdyla and I dove head first into the hottest topic of the week: the promotion of CF Tyler Naquin to the Opening Day roster! Since being told he’d be starting his season in Cleveland’s outfield, Naquin’s bat seemed to reflect the excitement, bombing four home runs where a week ago he had none during spring.
Just on the opposite side of the hot topic spectrum was the news that Michael Brantley would stay on the disabled list to start 2016. Not something many are happy to hear about, but as I’ve stated before, coming back 99% isn’t going to be good enough.
Brad decided to quiz me on the ALC players that made the cut for Baseball Tonight’s top 100. I did horribly. (I did get all five Indians though!)
Because it wouldn’t be the end of spring training without getting into the deep, dark, depths of the battle of the logo, we breaking down, on a small scale, the myth/truth behind the Indians name and Chief Wahoo. Agree? Disagree?
With less than a week left, the bar for the week was none other than Wilbert’s just outside the gates near the right field district. An amazing place, with awesome game day specials (not during the Opener though!) and the best atmosphere that will surround anyone who enters with tons of Cleveland pride.
