Cleveland Baseball And Brews: The Dr’s Return

This week on CLE Baseball and Brews, Brad Wojdyla and I wasted no time getting into one of the most important topics on Tribe fans minds; outfielder Michael Brantley‘s return to the field. In his first Cactus League game last Saturday night, Brantley made it very clear to those doubting his recovery that he’s more than ready to get 2016 going. In the bottom of the 5th inning against the Chicago Cubs, Brantley bombed a two-run homer to right in his last at bat of the game. So exciting! But it was only his first game, a spring training game. Though Brad believes it’s enough to get him on the Opening day roster, I argue otherwise!

We also dove into the Marlon Byrd signing being a solid advantage for the Indians, Giovanny Urshela‘s impressive drive to stay hot in Arizona and, as it seems, try to prove he belongs in the big leagues from the get go, and I might have gone on a slight rant on why Jose Ramirez should never bat anywhere but the two-spot. Ever…Just to name a few things.

With spring training beginning to wind down and the show coming to a close, our local beers (a few Platform porters, and a Portside 216 ale) continued to flow, as we jumped from the interestingly dramatic subject of Adam LaRoche and the Chicago WhiteSox to the great eats and feels of The Winking Lizard taverns across town. Whether you need some grub in walking distance after an Indians game or need a spot to watch the Windians from afar, the Lizard is a solid place to end up and I’d recommend it to anyone.

This episode was a blast to do, and I hope everyone that checks it out enjoys it just as much as we did recording it!

Also, if you anyone wants to recommend a beer, or a bar for us to try out please feel free to tweet either of us! (Arguments/comments on topics also welcomed!)
