After a dismal second half of football last week, the Cleveland Browns look to bounce back against the Green Bay Packers on Sunday. The Browns are 3-3 on the season and claim they’re not tanking in 2013. Here are three things that will help the orange-and-brown pull out a victory at Lambeau Field.
Dawg Bone #1
Get a Monster game from Gordon
The positive talk of the town is Josh Gordon. More people than not want Gordon to stay a Brown a long time. The reward vs. risk is too great to let Gordon go to another team for some draft pick. In four games, the 22-year-old has 429 yards, 25 receptions, and two touchdowns. Gordon is an absolute key to beating the Packers. Green Bay is one of the worst pass defenses in the league. A two touchdown and 150+ yard performance isn’t too out of the ordinary on Sunday for Gordon.
Dawg Bone #2
Create Defensive points
Whether it’s pick sixes, fumbled recoveries, safeties, or just NET points from turnovers, the Browns defense must find a way to add to the score. Ten or more points would be ideal from the defense. Is this asking for a miracle against one of the top offenses in the NFL? Absolutely, but trust in the Cleveland defense. Barkevious Mingo may play a huge part in this dawg bone.
Dawg Bone #3
Lead this contest in the 4th quarter comfortably
Add those two things above together and this could absolutely happen. If the Browns can shell shock the Packers early and not make the same mental mistakes they did a week ago late in the game, a 4-3 record is not far fetched. However, if this game comes down to Brandon Weeden having to bring them back and playing from behind, they will fail again. When it’s Aaron Rodgers vs. the soon-to-be out of the NFL Weeden, Rodgers will win every time.
