I think this picture pretty much sums up Matthew Stafford’s day against the Bungles. His offensive line was so poor, that he was literally scared for his life and made most of his throws with his eyes closed, head down, and his tongue out. As a result, he had a pretty tough time hitting Lions wide receivers and made it easy for Cinci to pick off two of his passes, including one that was returned for a touchdown.
On a day when I said a loss would be acceptable (honestly, Ws and Ls went out the window weeks ago) if I saw improvements from Stafford and an entertaining Ochocinco endzone celebration, I saw neither. I guess Stafford improved slightly from Thursday’s four pick game, but two picks and re-aggravating his left shoulder injury doesn’t exactly make me feel all warm and cozy inside.
As for Ochocinco’s “celebration,” where he put on a poncho and a sombrero after his touchdown: weak.
