Cody Zeller to audition before Sacramento Kings in solo workout tomorrow

The Sacramento Kings will take a look at one of the top big men in college basketball tomorrow.  The Kings announced today that Cody Zeller of Indiana University will showcase his talents before team brass in a solo workout.

The 7-foot Zeller will be the second big man the Kings audition who could be worthy of their No. 7 pick.  French center Rudy Gobert  headlined the Kings’ first pre-draft workout of the summer last Monday.  ESPN.com’s Chad Ford currently has Zeller attached to the Philadelphia 76ers with the 11th overall pick in his most recent mock draft.

The 20-year-old big man passed on the opportunity to go pro after his freshman season.  In returning to Indiana, Zeller did not make significant improvements to his game that many had hoped.  In his final season at Indiana, Zeller averaged 16.5 points and 8.1 rebounds in 29.5 minutes per game as a Hoosier.  In comparison, Zeller averaged 15.6 points and 6.6 rebounds in 28.5 minutes per game during his freshmen year.

His college basketball career ended when the No. 1 seeded Hoosiers were knocked out of the NCAA Tournament’s Sweet 16 by Syracuse.  Zeller is also the younger brother of Cleveland Cavaliers’ big man Tyler Zeller.
