Every week there are a lot of college football games going on at the same time. Sometimes it’s hard to know which ones you should be watching. To take the guess work out of it, just watch these games….trust me.
Thursday, Sept 27th
Stanford (3-0) at Washington (2-1), 9 PM, ESPN
Both of these teams have been tested once this season. Stanford showed up big against USC whereas Washington got curb stomped by LSU. This one is at home for Washington so that gives them a chance. That being said, Stanford should be able to control the lines of scrimmage. The last three times these teams have met, the Cardinal have handled the Huskies with relative ease. Can the Huskies turn the momentum of this series?
Friday, Sept 28th
Hawaii (1-2) at BYU (2-2), 8 PM, ESPN
After watching Boise State/BYU last week I’m not sure I would wish this game on my worst enemy but it’s all we have for the day. So go watch the Avengers or you could check this out to see how BYU gets freshman QB Taysom Hill involved.
Saturday, Sept 29th
Baylor (3-0) at West Virginia (3-0), Noon, FX
West Virginia and Heisman hopeful Geno Smith debut in the Big 12. This one is going to be all about offense. Expect the scoreboard to light up early and often in this game. Another interesting match-up to watch during this time slot over on the SEC Network is Arkansas at Texas A&M. A&M is in need of a signature win and Arkansas is in dire need of pulling out of their tailspin.
Tennessee (3-1) at Georgia (4-0), 3:30 PM, CBS
There are a few intriguing match-ups in this timeslot but Tennessee/Georgia should be the most exciting game of the bunch. Aaron Murray and the Bulldogs offense clocked Vanderbilt last week. Can they continue the trend against Tennessee? Tyler Bray and the Vols will be looking to bounce back from their loss earlier this season to Florida but Georgia should be getting back Bacarri Rambo and Alec Ogletree and will have it’s defense at full strength for the first time this season. Two other games to keep an eye on in this timeslot are Ohio State going on the road, for the first time this season, against Michigan State and Cincinnati taking on Virginia Tech in a game where I think we might see a surprising result.
Texas (3-0) at Oklahoma St (2-1), 7:50pm, FX
Texas will get it’s first test of the early season as they travel to Stillwater, which is always a tough place to play. Texas has the advantage on paper but they are going to need to score some points to win this one. Down the dial, Wisconsin plays Nebraska in what is a make-it/break-it game for both teams.
Oregon (4-0) at Washington St (2-2), 10:30 PM, ESPN 2
This one is probably not going to be pretty but stranger things have happened in Pullman. If you have the Pac-12 Network, which I don’t, check out Oregon State/Arizona which is the more intriguing game of the two.
