Collison, Lawson and Cauley-Stein react after the thrilling victory over Memphis

The Sacramento Kings’ young guns have been fun to watch since the big trade and tonight they continued to show their hustle and love for the game. The team definitely wanted this game really bad for their head coach, Dave Joerger.

Check out what Joerger had to say after the game:

“Good game, a really good battle of wills between two teams who had a great desire to win. You see their veteran-ness, they grind you down, they get you in the half court, their defense was suffocating there in the end of the game. We just tried to wear them down. We tried to be the younger, energetic team and guys just kept coming. I’m really proud of our guys.”

The Kings are 5-12 since trading DeMarcus Cousins at the All-Star break but the overall team effort and hustle is very evident and something to build on for the next few seasons.

Other Kings News:

The Kings issued a statement Monday denying reports that the team is looking to hire a basketball executive to oversee basketball operations over General Manager Vlade Divac with former Philadelphia executive Sam Hinkie as a target, according to ESPN and Yahoo.

“The Kings are not hiring Sam Hinkie and have no plans to bring anyone in above Vlade,” the team said.
