Peyton Manning broke out of his funk with a 25 for 35, 319 yard, 2 TD, 0 INT performance, assisted by signs of life from the running game. While the final, sub-3 YPC isn’t pretty the Colts had enough production on the ground to allow a semi-balanced offense. 35 passes to 32 runs. The Colts didn’t turn the ball over and only gave up one sack despite attacking the Titans D deep regularly.
The defensive performance was a bit rougher, after holding the Titans scoreless through the first 29 minutes they gave up 28 points in the final 31 with some embarrassing tackling largely at fault. Usually bottled up well by the Colts speed, Chris Johnson made several big plays and Collins dropped back 39 times without taking a sack.
An encouraging performance from Indy tonight. The Offense seems to have itself sorted out even against a legitimate defense and despite their lapses the D doesn’t seem to have any uncorrectable flaws.
The Colts still control their own destiny to the AFC South crown, with the biggest of the 3 remaining games next week against the Jags.
