Nothing beats watching the tape
* Fourth and 2. We won’t soon forget the play. Patriots go for it. Didn’t think so, but then Faulk lines up in the slot and I recall the reality of the situation hit. They are going for it! Blitz, quick pass to Faulk. He is across the 30 when the ball arrives, but juggles and is driven back at the same time by Bullitt. Ran this play back, again and again and again. Can’t tell, honestly, where Faulk has possession, when both feet are down, if he has the first down. The linesman can’t see the ball because Faulk’s back is to him. The other ref has to see around a Colts defender. Even if the Patriots could challenge, I doubt there’s indisputable evidence to overturn the ruling on the field. It’s that close. Linesman moves his arms to justify his spot, due to the Faulk juggle. Even then, the camera angle does not look straight down the 30-yard line, so that makes it even more difficult to gauge that spot. Colts celebrate. What a play.
* Manning to Wayne on an inside curl route. Receiver makes sure of the catch and lays down with it.
* Manning said afterward the Colts wanted to take their time and not give Brady enough clock to counter. But Addai almost scores too early. What a tremendous run as the back sprints through the maze of bodies and almost gets through before landing at the 1 for a 13-yard gain. Game on the line and the Colts were able to run the football.
