Colts coach Jim Caldwell moved practice on Thanksgiving Day up several hours to give everyone the afternoon with family and friends. That was easy to do given the structure of an NFL Thursday, but it doesn’t work on a Saturday that includes a cross-country trip to Oakland. So Caldwell did what he could; he moved the schedule back an hour to open up a little family time this morning.
The players understand.
“Lucky for us we’re playing football, and it’s a blessing to be able to do it,” said tight end Jacob Tamme, a devout Christian for whom Christmas is a joyous and solemn occasion.
