Commitment Drought Ends

For the first time since April 25th, Coach James Franklin had the privilege of tweeting his favorite tweet.

The tweet was in response to the commitment of 3 star safety/outside linebacker Brelin Faison-Walden of Greensboro, North Carolina.

Faison-Walden visited Penn State for Lasch Bash this past weekend. Penn State was not on the radar to land his services before this weekend, but Franklin and staff put together a terrific weekend that led to the commitment of Faison-Walden and should lead to a couple more pledges in the next two weeks.

He tweeted this message shortly after putting on his Nittany Lion hat in front of family and friends.

Brelin comes in at 6’1 200 and held an impressive offer sheet that included Alabama, Michigan, Tennessee, North Carolina, Georgia, Florida State, Oregon, and Clemson. He plans on enrolling early at Penn State.

He is the 9th commit in Penn State’s 2017 class and bumps the class rank up to 37 nationally from 41 according to 247 Sports.

I expect Penn State to have more good news this weekend with 4 star safety Jonathan Sutherland scheduled to commit.
