It’s not totally confirmed that this footage is from the Cubs home opener 1938 (April 22nd to be exact), but we’ll roll with it because the video is dope. Pay no mind to the ‘1937’ opening slate, according to the article linked below.
It’s the first year of the Wrigley bleachers and the iconic ivy has just been planted. The Cardinals – as expected – went ahead and ruined the affair with a dramatic 6-5 win.
