Bolts bench boss Jon Cooper has been named an assistant for Team North America for the 2016 World Cup of Hockey.
Cooper joins a staff headed by Oilers coach Todd McLellan. The other assistants are Sharks coach Peter DeBoer, Coyotes coach Dave Tippett and Oilers assistant coach Jay Woodcroft.
Team North America will be made up of players from the United States and Canada who are 23 and younger. The Sabres center Jack Eichel, Oilers center Connor McDavid, Predators defenseman Seth Jones and Lightning winger Jonathan Drouin will almost certainly be chosen.
The tournament is Sept. 17-Oct. 1 in Toronto.
