PLAYING CAREER: California/Anaheim Angels (1993–1999), St. Louis Cardinals (2000–2007), San Diego Padres (2008), Chicago Cubs (2008), Milwaukee Brewers (2010) and Cincinnati Reds (2010).
ACHIEVEMENTS: .284 career batting average with 393 home runs and 1199 RBI. Five seasons with 30 or more home runs. Four-time All-Star (1995, 2000, 2003 and 2005). 2006 World Series champion. Eight-time Gold Glove Award (1997-1998 and 2000–2005). 2004 Silver Slugger Award. Inducted into the St. Louis Cardinals Hall of Fame in 2014.

The Hall of Fame voting against increasing the ballot from 10 to 12 players is ASININE, and guys like Edmonds are going to suffer for it.

HOVG THOUGHTS: “Jimmy Baseball” is one of those players that if he got 50% or 5% I wouldn’t be surprised either way. His numbers, while pretty good, aren’t great. But then again…you can do plenty worse than his eight Gold Gloves and 393 home runs.
