Despite the whole size thing, Eaddy’s other measurables are off the chart. He has been timed as fast as 4.46 in the 40-yard dash, which was laser-timed at an Under Armour combine (laser is normally the most accurate measure of sprint times btw). And per Eaddy’s Youtube highlight page, he has participated in a couple of recruiting combines recently:
Two months ago:
I just participated in the Nike Combine on February 27th 2010, and I finished in the top 5 pertaining to sparq rating with a 96.3. There were over 1000 participants in the combine. I increased my vert to a 36.9 and my shuttle to a 4.16. My powerball toss was 34 feet as well.
Hang on, a 41.9 inch vert?? Who cares if you are 5-8 if you have a 41+ inch vertical leap! To give you an idea, Nate Robinson’s famous for his vertical leap, which is a reported 43.5 inches.
Not only can the kid run, but he can certainly get up too!
Here’s some good Youtube highlights of Eaddy:
[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rT3z5BI9GA0&w=445&h=364]You can see the shiftiness combined with some really good, pure speed. And remember, this is against Florida high school talent, not some lower-level competition where he is head and shoulders above a “shallow pool of talent”. He looks like the real thing.
And, what the heck. While we’re at it, here’s Youtube highlights of the other three recruits from Florida – Corian Hamilton, Isiah Myers and Darryl Monroe.
Hamilton:
[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YDRFMMdj70w&w=445&h=364]Hamilton has the ideal size and speed combo for a safety – 6-1, 210, runs a 4.58 in the 40. He’s physical too, at least from the highlights, and who knows, maybe he’s the type that ends up at weakside/outside linebacker? He’s already reeling in the offers too, now up to 12 offers all across the country. Who knows how it will go with him, but there will be a ton of competition for his services.
Myers:
[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xnVLJnnvXks&w=445&h=364]Definitely more prototype in terms of size (6-0, 170), and he’s strong, but he lacks the breakaway speed with a 4.6 40-time. Good, strong hands though, you can see some of the catches he makes are all hands, and not using his body to catch the ball. Nice diving catch on the sideline out route at 1:26 too. You can always use a physical, move-the-chains type guy, and that looks like the type of player Myers could be at the next level. WSU is his only offer so far, but we’ll see.
Monroe:
[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7natiBFzQVI&w=445&h=364]This guy hits like a TRUCK! Big stats too, 116 tackles last year and 13 for loss. Squats 415, benches 275, so he’s on his way in the weight room! Has six offers already, but getting more calls from BCS schools of late, so things could just be heating up for Monroe.
That’s about it. Enjoy your humpday, and GO COUGS!
