Counting down to kickoff, its time to get excited! Who will play?

On the right hand side of this website, I put a countdown counter way back months ago, and it has gone from way over 150 down to the 3 it says now. Its Wednesday of a game week, something we will now be doing weekly for the next 20 + weeks, and hopefully the PLUS part of that is true too, for that will mean our Bucs made it to football heaven, life after season; Playoffs! But for now, since we dont want to get too far ahead, it’s time to get ready for the Miami Dolphins this Saturday. The First preseason game is always a mystery. Even back in the day you didn’t play your starters so they wouldn’t get hurt. Weeks 2 and 3 were the weeks you played your starters the longest, and thus were the best games to watch as a fan. This Saturday, expect the starters to play 12 snaps, which hopefully wont be three 3 & Outs! But it should amount to a series or two depending on how things go. The two injured rookies everyone wants to see, Brian Price and Myron Lewis, are up in the air and probably wont be decided until game time. Stars playing or not playing is probably the most frustrating part of preseason, and if Commissioner Goodell’s recent history of things he discusses comes true continues, we will see the end of 4 Preseason games and down to either 3 or 2. Whether that amounts to those games being added onto the regular season, is anyones guess. More than likely, that will be a hot topic in the negotiations for a players/owners contract next year.
