Couple of Reminders

Couple of Reminders
Happy Thursday Cougar fans!
I hope your week is going well, LucasCoug here to remind you of a few things going on with the blog.

First, in case you missed it, we launched a contest for the Best WSU Gameday Story over the 4th of July weekend.  If you’re two lazy to click the link here is the gist of said contest….
Submit to us your best game day story via email at [email protected].  Maybe it was a great tailgate or some other pre-funk, maybe you were in the Cougar Marching Band, or maybe you got to run out the tunnel because you were on the team. Whatever it is, we want to hear it.  Oh, and if you have pictures to accompany your story, by all means attach them to the email.  So far we have a handful of good entries, and we will be selecting our Top 3 after the contest ends at the end of the month.  From there, we will post the Top 3 stories on the blog and allow our readers to vote on their favorite!
The contest winner will be mailed the 2010 edition of Blue Ribbon Yearbook.  One of the premiere pre-season college football publications!!  Note that Blue Ribbon is the same service that ESPN.com uses for all 120 of their NCAA D-1 previews this year.

Couple of Reminders
Moving on, a few months back, WSU Football Blog launched a Twitter account, @WazzuFBBlog.  I know you’re probably curious why we didn’t use the account name @WSUFootballBlog.  Well it was stolen from us, by another blogger who shall remain nameless.  I’m not really sure why Joe Nickell didn’t name his Twitter account @FirstAndCrimson, seeing that is the name of his blog, but that’s neither here nor there.
Anyways, at first I was against using Twitter for myself, as it’s just a constant stream of “status updates” and that’s what I have Facebook for.  However, after taking the reins on the blog’s Twitter account, I linked it to my Blackberry and can post anything Cougar related throughout the day as well as stay informed on everything.  It has literally become my first online stop each day. Where else can you get the latest from Chris Mortenson, Chad Ochocinco, Erin Andrews, Bill Simmons, Hamza Abdullah, Alex Brink, Reggie Moore, Kyle Weaver, countless other Cougs and all of the other WSU sites all with one keystroke on your phone?
I must say, if you aren’t following us on Twitter, you’re definitely missing out!  So go ahead and sign yourself up right here.  Then download your Twitter to your smart phone, and stay connected.
If you have any questions, let us know.
Have a great day!
