Excerpt

Abdur-Rahim previously held the title of assistant general manager in Petrie’s front office.  With Pete D’Alessandro, he is now working as the Kings director of player personnel.  What’s the difference between the two?

Well I think that maybe one title is a little bit more distinguished than the other.  But honestly, I’m doing a lot of the same things – in some instances more.  For instance, we have taken over the basketball operations of the Reno Bighorns, so I’m playing a role in that and helping us get that affiliation going.  So it’s a difference in title and some in responsibility, but there’s a lot of overlap in the job.
