Cowbell Kingdom Podcast Ep 53: Isaiah Thomas recaps Kings voluntary mini-camp

Last week, 10 members of the Sacramento Kings returned to Natomas for a voluntary mini-camp organized by second-year man Isaiah Thomas.  So, who impressed?  And how are the Kings’ newest acquisitions fitting in so far?  Cowbell Kingdom caught up with the Kings starting point guard at his youth basketball camp yesterday to discuss the players’ only week of workouts.

Excerpt

We asked Thomas if he’s ready and prepared for newcomer Aaron Brooks to challenge him for his starting point guard spot:

I’m ready for everything.  I’m going in, telling myself I’m (going to) be the starting point guard, telling everybody else that’s my job.  That’s how I’m going in and I feel like that I’ve earned the starting point guard position.  (There’s) gonna be battles in the practice facility, but that’s what you live for.  You want to play against the best point guards, you want to play against the best players to bring the best out of you.  And it’s going to be fun because it’s not just going to help me, but help everybody else on the team get to new heights.

Editor’s Note: This podcast was recorded just before news broke about the Goon Squad Classic II’s cancellation.
