The 2012-13 NBA season is a make-or-break year for Tyreke Evans. Earlier this week, Marc Spears of Yahoo! Sports wrote a feature on the Sacramento Kings’ guard, breaking down Evans’ preparation for the upcoming year. Spears joins us to discuss that and share his outlook on the Kings during this week’s Cowbell Kingdom podcast.

Spears on Evans’ contract situation:
One thing when I talked to him is he mentioned several times that he wants to win, he wants to win, he wants to win. So the one thing the Kings have to worry about is they’re playing with fire a little bit now. We’re not talking about a perennial playoff team, we’re not talking about a championship contender, we’re not even taking about a team that’s expected to make the playoffs. So, don’t cut your nose to spite your face; don’t think that you’re prettier than you are. I think the Kings would be a fool not to sign him before the season, even if it’s just from an asset standpoint.
