As Sacramento and Seattle jostle over the the future of the Kings’ franchise, everyday is a new high for one city and a low for another. With plenty of news breaking again Thursday, we bring in Chris Daniels of KING 5 TV in Seattle for the latest perspective from the Pacific Northwest in the first half of the show. In second part, we touch base on a myriad of topics including David Stern’s latest comments on the Kings’ saga, the Here We Buy campaign and the challenging task of coaching the Kings.
Daniels on what the capital city has going for them in this fight for the Kings:
“I think that in Sacramento’s favor, if there was any other mayor in the country involved, I think it would be over by a long shot. But because Kevin Johnson is involved and he is the former NBA great and he has David Stern’s ear, I would not rule anything out for the city of Sacramento. It’s just a question on whether Kevin Johnson can put together a similar package and have all of the T’s crossed and all of the I’s dotted and all the approvals that he needs to say to the NBA, to David Stern, to the owners that hey look, we have a deal that is comparable to the one that exists right now in Seattle.”
