The Cowboys were underdogs coming to Seattle, but they will now leave with a signature win on the plane ride home. What a game. The score doesn’t really reflect how much the Cowboys dominated the Seahawks at Century Link.
Teams do not win in Seattle and the Cowboys came in a played in some vintage form on both sides of the ball. We are seeing an upward tick with this team. We are seeing swagger, confidence, and they are not folding under pressure.
Here are my takes on this amazing win.
— Dwayne Harris is garbage and we need to consider putting in Beasley in his place. I have never liked Harris’ game, and this year he’s playing like sht. He’s fielding the ball from deep in the endzone and putting us in bad field position. But geez, his fumbles are killing us. Pull him, I’m done with him. Get Bease in there.
— Special Teams return game is garbage, but our tackling coverage was on point today. Percy Harvin was shutdown and a non-factor in the return game.
— DeMarco Murray is probably running himself into a new contract extension.
— When will Jason Garrett get a contract extension? These Cowboys have not looked this good as a whole in a long time. All the drafting and recent free agent moves are all coming together for Garrett now. I’m not saying Garrett will get a new contract tomorrow, but if they keep putting together wins, it’ll only be a matter of when and not if.
— Offensive Line of Doom. That’s what I’m calling these guys. The offensive line is mauling people and tiring defensive lines. There is something to be said about shutting down J.J. Watt and now the Seattle Legion of Boom. This line is legit as hell.
— Mistakes still coming at the wrong moments. Special teams almost killed us today. The blocked punt, and Harris every game turnovers need to end. Their was a clear momentum shift after Harris’ dumb muffed fair catch. How do you bobble a fair catch? We cannot have these mistakes the deeper we get into the season ans we certainly can’t have them in the post season if we get that far. Clean it up!
— Marinelli magic is real. Rod Marinelli has turned these guys into something special, the issue for Dallas will be about how do we keep Rod in Dallas for the long haul? Let’s get some credit to Leon Lett as well. The defensive line may not be getting sacks, but they are flushing out the QB and forcing bad passes.
— Anthony Spencer is coming around. Spencer had a 2-sack game last time we played Seattle, and today Spencer didn’t have that type of game, but he brought some needed pressure and a QB hit.
— The secondary is playing well. Give credit to those guys making plays in man-to-man coverage, good job back there.
— Dan Bailey is still the best in the league and there’s zero hesitation on that.
— Terrance Williams with the tight rope catch. Wow that was beautiful. These receivers are coming along well under Coach Dooley.
— Gavin Escobar aka El Patron may not get many looks, but he had a nice TD today. If we can get him more involved, the mismatches will be abundant.
— Pressure in waves has been happening on defense. Everyone is contributing and the fresh legs are enabling the defense to get off the field on 3rd downs. Seattle was just 5-13 on 3rd down. Badass! Can you imagine how much more we’ll get once Lawrence gets on the field. I can’t wait
— Rolando McClain has finally found a home in Dallas. Nice game again, and nice dagger play with the INT to end the game
The Cowboys now get three consecutive home games: Giants, Redskins, Cardinals
The divisional games are coming and we’ll now need to take care of business within the division and help position ourselves at claiming a playoff spot. It starts with running the table in the NFC East. Let’s go Dallas!!
