With the exception of the last 7 or so seconds, last night’s contest between the Celtics & Cavaliers was easily the most enjoyable game of this young season for Boston fans. We saw solid performances from Sully & K.O. as well as some beautiful dishes by Rondo.
Let’s start with Jared Sullinger. The man who “uses his butt better than any NBA player since Barkley“, according to a fan sitting in my section last night, put up some good numbers against the Cavs. Sully shot 7 of 13 from the floor to tally 19 points, and grabbed 10 boards. Sullinger also handed out 3 assists during his 27+ minutes of play. He did not fire away from downtown, (1 of 2 from trey) instead getting into the paint where he carved out space & connected on 6 of his 7 made field goals.
Kelly Olynyk, who I believe is really making progress, had himself a season-high 21 points in 31 minutes. 10 of those 21 came during the C’s 42-point 3rd quarter. Klynyk was a perfect 3 of 3 from the field & 2 of 2 from downtown in his 8 minutes of 3rd Q play.
And finally, if you’ve been in a drunken blackout all weekend and missed last night’s game, (*cough* Jester) our guys from CelticsLowdown have you covered. Just be sure to stop watching before the final play of the game…
