Cup O’ coffee

*Give Colts defensive end Dwight Freeney credit for seeing this coming. Freeney, after registering two sacks and two forced fumbles against the Giants the week before, said after watching tape of Denver last week he would be surprised if he got many opportunities to hit Orton Sunday. Freeney figured the Broncos would do whatever was necessary to protect the quarterback and after the Broncos allowed just one sack – a four-yarder by defensive end Robert Mathis – Freeney said Denver essentially did just that. “They dedicated two or three blockers to keep me and Robert doubled, and that left seven or eight guys back in protection, and they ran two-man routes,” Freeney said .”So that means that we have seven potential defensive back or linebacker combinations to cover two guys. The score is going to be lower when you commit all that attention to the pass rush. Sometimes numbers to always translate in whether or not guys did well. It’s all about the score at the end of the game.”
