As the announcement of the 2015 Hall of Fame class draws nearer, everyone is sharing their opinion on how they would change the process, who should be in (and why) and, naturally, who shouldn’t.
Never one to shy away from a discussion on social media, Curt Schilling weighed in with his thoughts. And I don’t know about you, but I think this is the first time I’ve ever seen someone currently on the ballot openly critiquing the system.
But, the former pitcher isn’t your run of the mill Hall of Fame candidate.
Add separate vote to ballot. "Unanimous" or "1st Ballot" for voters, pick whoever you want, limit # those votes don't count towards your 10

Then maybe we get guys like RJ and Pedro in unanimously as some others (Ruth, Gehrig, Clemente) should have been

2 things. 1) How in the hell is Tim Raines not in? Only Henderson was better leading off???? 2) Gary Sheffield??? Why so little support?

Alright, say what you want about Schilling, but the guy does bring up some interesting points. First, I’m huge on Gary Sheffield and can’t believe how little talk there has been about the dude. But most impressive…dude’s take on “unanimous” and “first ballot” Hall of Famers.
Me? I kinda like the idea. I’m not sure how in the world it would work…but, sure, why not?!?
What do you think?
