D.J. Peterson to Return to La Salle After All

If you remember on April 30th, I wrote a story about how La Salle guard D.J. Peterson would be transferring to be closer to home; well that story has done an entire 360. Peterson has reconsidered the decision of transferring.

Head coach Dr. John Giannini said “D.J. is close to his family and has missed them during his long absences from home.”  Dr. John Giannini also added that Peterson was close to his teammates and spoke with his parents about the decision to transfer and decided to come back to La Salle.

Giannini also said that D.J.’s decision was personal and not basketball related. With D.J. coming back to the team this will help the Explorers on and off the court as this family environment they have created should be tighter than ever. Finally, Giannini said “I respect that D.J. has had to make a difficult personal decision. Our recent success is largely due to our chemistry and family atmosphere. We would support any decisions D.J. makes for his future and we are happy that he will continue to be apart of our team.

With Peterson coming back, La Salle’s starting lineup will not be influx so much now as the young players can step into their own gradually and not be thrown into the fire.
