Dallas Keuchel’s Beard Leads the Way for Astros

If you noticed Dallas Keuchel’s beard during Tuesday night’s American League Wild Card game…you weren’t alone.

The Houston Astros ace’s chin curtain seemed to be the talk of Twitter and much like the pitcher’s performance against the New York Yankees, Keuchel’s beard was on point.

And for good reason.

Prior to the game, the House of David lookalike got his beard cleaned up by none other than the “official” barber to many big leaguers, Angel Pena. The New York-based barber has definitely made a name for himself around the Majors. Among his high-profile clients…Manny Ramirez, Albert Pujols and, famously, David Ortiz.

“Everybody around the league knows who he is, and everybody loves him,” says Ortiz, who apparently has his own barber chair in his garage thanks to Pena. “Everybody is cool with him because he’s so cool. I’m telling you, he’s got a relationship with everyone.”
