Time for a new sad request: If we can’t win, can we at least try to not lose by 6+ runs? Paul Maholm gets the start tonight and he has to make a decent start because the bullpen’s worked a bunch of innings over the last two days.
Perhaps he can expect a bit of run support since Matt Cain is pitching for the Giants tonight, and since he’s a good pitcher we should probably expect six or seven runs of our own tonight (except now I’ve jinxed it). If Maholm can’t go six or seven, it’ll likely take at least that many.

Huge point movements today as Brian Burres was as close to a gimme as this contest has had in its young life, with seven contestants picking the poor spot-starter. LRNeub tried to maintain faith and was punished for it. Burres was mostly it for the day, though, as no one got the secondary Cangelosi, Ryan Doumit, and the Clementes were Andy LaRoche and Ronny Cedeno. No one had Cedeno, though dafletch and UtesFan89 both lost points on LaRoche, while bwzimmerman was the only one with faith in the LaRoche family and was rewarded with two points for it.
