Central Michigan University’s golden boy, Dan “The Man” LeFevour, has broken the record for the most touchdowns scored (rushing, receiving, and passing) in an NCAA season.
LeFevour hit Cody Wilson with a 14 yard touchdown pass to break the record in the first quarter of the MAC Championship game against Ohio at Ford Field. The touchdown was Levefour’s 148th of his career. He later added 149 for good measure when he hit Rockford’s Bryan Anderson late in the first half. Tim Tebow, who sits in second place on the record list (Superman is second!?), currently has 140 career touchdowns.
Breaking this major college football record serves as icing on the cake for Levefour’s already illustrious career; which includes Mid American Conference records for career completions, attempts, passing yards, and total offensive yards. Additionally, LeFevour is third all time for total offense in NCAA foolsball. Mel Greaseball Kiper projects Levfevour to be taken between the 10-15th selections of the first round.
As a Chip fan and Central grad, I’m proud to see one of the good guys making big moves. While all of these accomplishments are pretty impressive (even if he plays in a J.V. league) none of them taste quite as sweet as knocking off Sparty 29-27 at Spartan Stadium earlier in the year.
