According to ESPN, the Alleged Worldwide Leader is for all intents and purposes allowing Dan Patrick to leave without any ramifications. According to a statement released just as Dan was making his announcement, Dan is free to pursue outside interests, so that means he can sign with any network without penalty. Patrick’s contract with ESPN was to expire in 2008.
So if he goes to CBS Radio or the Premiere Radio Networks, he could be on the air on August 20, three days after his last day on ESPN Radio, if he so chose.
