2:00 p.m. – SportsCenter Update with Dan Davis
2:04 p.m. – A cut from last hour’s interview with Bud Selig is played.
2:06 p.m – Dan announces that he’s leaving ESPN as of August 17. Says he was taking ESPN for granted and he said his bosses tried to talk him out of it. Said there’s no animosity. Says it’s time to move on. Says he hopes to be in radio and possibly in TV.
2:07 p.m. – Says that was going to be his Big Announcement, but was asked to take a couple of days off. Keith Olbermann comes in and says it’s a big of deja vu for him.
So the rumors of Dan to CBS Radio will be on until something different happens.
