D’Angelo Russell was set to have a workout in Philadelphia this weekend for the NBA Draft but cancelled earlier Friday afternoon. The Ohio State guard is the top target for the Sixers in the Draft which is set to take place on June 25th. Russell said Friday that he cancelled the workout because he was “really sick” but reports show that may not be the reason for the cancelation. Reports say that many scouts believe D’Angelo is the best prospect in the draft and there is growing speculation that he will be drafted at 1 by the Timberwolves, or 2 by the Lakers. According to Chad Ford of ESPN.com, there have been talks about Minnesota taking the point guard with the first pick. Many expect Russell to reschedule his workout with the Sixers, but no one knows.

So what if Russell gets drafted ahead of the Sixers? That’s a questions on everyone’s mind at the moment. The Sixers are in desperate need of a guard so the next best guard in the draft is Emmanuel Mudiay. He is a 19 year old guard that played in China and is a mystery guy for the Draft. Another prospect the Sixers are high on is Kristaps Porzingis. He is a seven foot forward who can shoot the ball well. Many are unsure why the Sixers would draft another forward as they have Noel and Embiid, but multiple scouts say Porzingis is the “best prospect in the Draft.”
