Daniel Snyder: Hail to the Chief Zee

sauvegoal

Hog Heaven suspected The Danny as the generous soul who paid Zema “Chief Zee” William’s funeral expense. Shame on me for not posting my gut feeling earlier.

But, Hail to Mr. Snyder.

Snyder was once the most reviled team owner is sports, nowhere more than in the DMV. And then Snyder showed unexpected empathy in the anguish around Sean Taylor’s death. It sustained us all in a troubling time.

His reputation soared in 2007, but tanked with the the Redskins’ win total in the years that followed. It has been on a slow uptick since  he hired Scot McCloughan, an authentic NFL GM.

We never believed that Snyder could be shamed into selling the team. We wanted him to become a better owner. The Redskins cannot become a Super Bowl team until Snyder become a world class enterprise leader.

This move shows that he has the fan’s touch.

After 17 years of active team management, it’s about time.
