Under normal circumstances, the Celtics would be in DC tonight for their tenth game of the season against the Wizards. How fun would it be to see Rondo and John Wall go at it, never mind JaVale McGee and/or Andray Blatche having more encounters with KG? We could add Jordan Crawford to that list, but that supposed incident took place during a pick-up game during the lockout, so that feud may never have materialized, but it's KG so anything IS possible.
While it's odd to see Doc Rivers in the crowd at the EA Sports Maui Invitational cheering on his son Ausitn (he should be coaching right now) Danny Ainge may actually be at this tournament regardless. Either way, he is there now as Chad Ford of ESPN.com reports, along with several other NBA GMs.
A number of NBA GMs are on hand for the tournament. Danny Ainge, Gar Forman, Sam Presti, Kevin O'Connor, Chris Grant, Mark Warkentein, Chad Buchanan, Mitch Kupchak, Daryl Morey were all sitting baseline for the Michigan-Memphis game, alongside another 30 or so NBA scouts.
Ainge was apparently scouting the Michigan vs. Memphis game, perhaps taking a closer look at Tim Hardaway Jr. to see if he has his father's skeeeelz:
