“He’s the coach because Doc (Rivers) chose him to be the coach,”
Danny Ainge said last night after the first of the group’s three
practices.“Not me.”
He added with a smile, “I don’t know if it was in the whole
transition when Doc didn’t know if he was going to be back here and
didn’t know if he’d have any staff. And he knew Austin would be around
for sure.“It’ll be a good experience for Austin. I think he told Austin maybe
10 days or two weeks ago that he’d like him to coach in the summer
league.”
Doc never coaches summer league anyway… but I'm sure he'll be around. This one is in his back yard in Orlando.
