There was a piece in the Detroit News this evening talking about ex-Piston Darko Milicic and how he is trying to find success in the NBA. He has already been with three teams in his short NBA career and expresses that he wants to find some happiness with his newest team, the New York Knicks.
You’d think winning a championship as a rookie would be the highlight of his career, but apparently, according to Darko, Detroit was the worst:
“I have enough bad experience in NBA life,” Milicic said. “I don’t think this can be worse than Detroit, so I just want to enjoy it and hope to have a winning season and do the best I can.”
I have absolutely zero sympathy for Darko regarding his time in Detroit. From several reliable sources who hung out with Darko while he was in Detroit, I’ve heard he did nothing but smoke cigs, drink, and mess around with the minds of local high school girls. It showed every single time he stepped on the court too, as he could barely make it up and down the floor without needing an oxygen tank. If Detroit was his worst experience, then good. He didn’t deserve a better one. That’s how I really feel. Best of luck, Darko.
And man, I wish this interview was true:
